Leica Publishers Award
One of the most important photo book prizes in Europe

The competition, which previously ran under the name of "European Publishers Award for Photography ", has been part of the Leica cultural projects activity since 1994. In 2006, the competition took place for the first time under the new name. The new name highlights the company's dedication to one of the most important photo book prizes in Europe. The work of the winning photographer is also displayed in the prestigious Leica gallery in Solms.

ENTRY REGULATION

Extremely well supported and held in high regard, the Leica European Publisher’s Award for Photography is presented each year for outstanding completed and unpublished photography projects in book format.

Winner 2008

The Danish photographer Jacob Aue Sobol wins the „Leica European Publishers Award for Photography 2008" for his printed book project "Tokyo".

WINNER 2007

Besides having his book project ”As I Was Dying” printed, the Italian photographer Paolo Pelligrin will receive 10,000 Euro in cash and a LEICA M8 digital rangefinder system camera.

WINNER 2006

Besides having his book project 'Peking' published, the Frenchman Ambroise Tézenas will receive prize money of 10,000 euros and an engraved LEICA M7 rangefinder system camera.

WINNER 2005

Lorenzo Castore of Italy has been awarded a sum of 10,000 Euro and an engraved LEICA M7 for his book 'Paradiso'.
